Paralysis
by Kris Janvier
Opaque windows in mansions full of CEOs, underbosses, stock traders, basketball players, and actresses sprawled on their king size mattresses from Raymour and Flanigan staring at the spinning ceiling fan without a single blink during the process of melatonin. Their still bodies are sinking slowly and smoothly through the mattress like quicksand and began to fall in to the navy blue void without a single command from their brains to flap their arms to fly back to their realms, but due to melatonin, their brains have completely shut down as they crash landed on damp soil filled with green worms that eventually crawl on their faces to close their still eyes.
